    Chair of the Trust

    Oke joined the Trust in April 2025. A qualified accountant, he’s held a variety of senior leadership roles including at Prudential, Sainsburys and Bupa. An experienced non-executive director, Oke has been on the board of Hyde and Bromford housing providers and the Institute of Customer Service. After stepping down as UK CEO of ManyPets, Oke’s passion for improving diversity, equity and inclusion led to him launching a start-up social enterprise, Elevate Colour, to improve representation of people of colour in business leadership roles. Oke is the host of Race to the Top podcast, where he interviews successful leaders of colour.

    James Blythe

    Chief Executive

    James joined the Trust in May 2026 as Chief Executive Officer. James joined the NHS via the NHS Management Training Scheme in 2004, starting his career at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. After time in a variety of consulting, operational and policy roles, he was Director of Commissioning for Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Group, Managing Director of Merton and Wandsworth CCGs and Managing Director of Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals from 2022. In September 2025 he was appointed Interim Group Chief Executive across St George’s and Epsom and St Helier. James is passionate about cross-system working and in his previous role combined acute hospital leadership with a system leadership role for the Integrated Care Board and executive lead of a major elective orthopaedic hub. James holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Leadership and Management.

  • Andrew Statham

    Chief Strategy Officer

    Andrew is the Chief Strategy Officer for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Andrew is responsible for Strategy, Planning, Improving Together, Communications and our new hospital programme. He has over 15 years’ experience working within the NHS and the wider healthcare sector. Before joining our Trust, Andrew spent time as a Director within a Healthcare consultancy, and as a Civil Servant at the Cabinet Office and Department for Work and Pensions. Andrew studied Economics in both the UK and Massachusetts.

    Chief Operating Officer

    Previously he held the position of Director of Primary Care and System Transformation at NHS England and Improvement. Dom’s previous roles at NHS England include Director of Commissioning Operations for Wessex and Regional Assurance and Delivery Director for the South of England. Prior to that, he held posts in central Government, with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in South Central Strategic Health Authority.

  • Dr Janet Lippett

    Chief Medical Officer

    Janet was appointed Chief Medical Officer in 2019 and with executive colleagues led the Trust's response to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Recently completing an 8-month interim role as Acting Chief Executive she is also the Executive Lead for our partnership with the University of Reading. Qualifying as a doctor at St Georges Hospital, London in 1999 she joined RBFT in 2007 as a Consultant Geriatrician establishing a successful Orthogeriatric Service.

    Chief Finance Officer

    Prior to joining the Trust, Frances was Chief Finance Officer at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, where she led the organisation’s financial strategy, financial planning and oversight of financial performance. In addition to her finance responsibilities, she also had executive oversight of the Trust’s digital function, supporting programmes focused on digital transformation, automation and improving patient pathways. Frances has held a number of senior finance leadership roles across NHS provider organisations and has experience working closely with system partners to support financial sustainability and service transformation. Frances is a qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience working in NHS finance.

    Chief Nursing Officer

    After undertaking the Deputy Chief Nurse at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Katie joined the Trust in October 2023. After graduating as a Registered Nurse in 2001, Katie began her nursing career at University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust, specialising in respiratory care, acute medicine, and older person’s medicine. Katie joined Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2018 as Divisional Chief Nurse, in 2020 she was promoted to Deputy Chief Nurse. Katie holds an MSc in Leadership & Management in Healthcare and is a Florence Nightingale Foundation Scholar, she is passionate about coaching teams to deliver high quality safe patient care.

  • Paul Da Gama

    Chief People Officer

    Prior to joining the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Paul was Workforce Improvement Programme Director at NHS Employers, where he led the design and delivery of major national programmes to improve the working lives of Resident Doctors. Paul has previously served as Chief People Officer at St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Healthcare Group, West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Before joining the NHS, Paul held senior HR leadership roles with the Royal Mail Group and spent 10 years with HSBC. Paul began his career as a teacher. Board meetings are held face to face and are open to all staff and the public to observe. We will publish agendas and papers for the meetings before the meeting.     Non-Executive Director

    Catherine is a nurse who specialised in paediatrics and community nursing. She has extensive health service experience, spanning a variety of settings including acute hospitals, community providers, commissioning groups and most recently as CEO of a Hospice. She has worked at the Department of Health with the Performance Improvement Team for Emergency Care and led several transformation programmes across the NHS in England and Ireland.

    Mike spent 30 years in the consumer healthcare industry holding managing director positions in the UK and overseas as well as global corporate roles. He left industry to become chief executive of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He has held a range of non-executive chair, director and trustee positions including founding co-chair of National Voices, the leading patient service user advocacy group, member of the management board of the European Medicines Agency, chair of two NHS Trusts and board member of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Before joining the Trust Minoo worked as Consultant Community Paediatrician in Berkshire for over 20 years and has held several leadership roles leading up to Executive Medical Director in Berkshire Healthcare for 9 years. His other roles in the healthcare system have included a mental health partner member on the BOB ICB Board and partner member on the Board of the Health Innovation Network. He has a Masters in Health Management from Imperial College Business School and professional clinical qualifications from the United Kingdom, India and the United States.

    Suzanne Byrne is a highly experienced business leader with more than 30 years' expertise in customer experience, digital transformation, operational excellence and governance. She is currently Group Customer Director at Taylor Wimpey, where she leads a national customer service function of over 400 colleagues and has delivered significant improvements in customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and operational performance. Suzanne was named in Cranfield School of Management's Women to Watch 2020 list and has played a key role in shaping new-builds development industry standards through the New Homes Quality Board. She is passionate about improving organisational culture, customer outcomes and service quality.
