About
What PublicPapers is
What it holds today
327 bodies and 205,113 papers, in 64,773 packs and reports held in our own archive.
- 327 NHS bodies: 324 in England and 3 in Wales.
Nothing yet from Scotland and Northern Ireland.
How each document is collected is set out in the methodology, and every body is listed one by one, with its papers, its board and a link to its own website, in the directory.
By kind of body
| Kind | Bodies | Holding a document |
|---|---|---|
| NHS trust | 205 | 205 |
| Integrated care board | 36 | 36 |
| Cancer alliance | 20 | 19 |
| NHS group | 17 | 16 |
| NHS national body | 15 | 8 |
| Health innovation network | 15 | 14 |
| Public body | 8 | 5 |
| NHS regional body | 7 | 3 |
| Healthcare service | 3 | 2 |
| NHS England | 1 | 1 |
A body holding nothing is usually a site we have not yet collected from, not a body that publishes nothing. The methodology says what a gap means.
What a subscription holds
The catalogue, the archive and search across every paper in it; a profile for each body with its board and its documents; and the official statistics published about it. Everything a reader needs to find what a board actually read, and when.
Every profile, every board and the current board pack are free to read without an account. A subscription opens the archive behind them and the text of every paper. The pricing page sets out exactly which is which.
Who it is for
- Lawyers
- What a board was told, on which date, in the words of the paper it was told in, with the original a click away for the bundle.
- Journalists
- Every board's papers in one place and searchable, including the versions a body has since taken down.
- Management consultants and audit firms
- What a board was shown about its performance, money and governance, meeting after meeting, without collecting the packs by hand.
- Technology companies and NHS suppliers
- Which boards are discussing a problem, a programme or a procurement, and who sits on them.
What it is not
It is not the official record. The body that published a paper is the authoritative source for it, and we link to their copy every time. Nothing here is legal, financial or professional advice.
How it is run
PublicPapers is operated by Thinkbox Studios (UK) Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17409614, registered office 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE.
Collection runs every day. Each day’s work is checked on a separate copy of the database before it is released to this site. Anything a collector cannot get is recorded for a person to review rather than skipped.
How we treat the documents and what you may do with them is in the data licence. Where your data is held and who processes it is in the security statement.
Corrections, questions and team enquiries go to hello@publicpapers.co.uk, read by a person.
